Choose the right build

  • Platform: the published Preview is Windows x64. macOS acceptance is pending; ARM64 compatibility has not been established.
  • Desktop runtime: the Windows client uses WebView2. The installer can prepare the runtime when needed; initial setup may require internet access.
  • Memory and disk: requirements depend on file type and operation. Leave room for indexes, decompression caches and output copies before a large full-file task.
  • Release trust: updater signatures are enabled. A Windows publisher certificate is still pending for this Preview, so Windows may show an unverified-publisher notice. Follow your device or organization’s installation policy.

Review the current release notes and SHA256SUMS before your first install. A checksum identifies a file; it does not replace publisher signing.

Install, choose a source, inspect

  1. Download the latest Preview installer and complete its Windows installation.
  2. Open RowCove Preview. Choose a file or dataset folder through the visible native picker.
  3. Review the detected source information. A database source needs an explicit table choice.
  4. Inspect the read-only first page and complete values. Full-file queries, editing/export and MCP require supported Pro capabilities; public Pro checkout is still being prepared.

Preview has a separate installation identity and data directory. Do not assume that activation or configuration migrates from a different build.

Start with large CSV, AI training shards or quant research exports. Public examples contain mock data only.

Later versions update inside RowCove

Open Software updates, check for a newer version, then choose Install and restart. RowCove downloads the package, verifies its updater signature, installs it and restarts. Save edited documents and wait for running data tasks before restarting.

An old build without a trusted updater configuration needs one initial installation of the enabled build. Subsequent versions use the in-app workflow. Update errors can be retried; an invalid signature must never be bypassed.

The public repository keeps only the latest published version. An older release-specific download may disappear; use this page or check again in the app for the current package.

Get unstuck without sending your data

Contact support@rowcove.com with the build version, Windows architecture, source format, file-size range and error message. Remove private paths and record values. A small synthetic reproduction is more useful than an uploaded private dataset.
